The Birdhouse is a tribute to the lost era of lookout towers and observation posts that were once prominent fixtures across America. A design to be determined, the tower will be built atop the limestone outcroppings at the highest point on the property and will offer 360 degree views of surrounding valleys and homesteads. From this vantage point, observers will see an abundance of wildlife, including herds of whitetail deer that forage on the grounds below. Birders will also have a view of dozens of local and migrating feathered friends. Stone steps built into the hillside will offer direct access to the tower from George’s Cabin.
